What sets this bag appart from others is its femininity. I have seen many wheeled cases… all of them “luggage looking” in construction… and couldn’t bring myself to purchase one. I’m a woman, I have style, I don’t want to be lumped with all the men but rather stand out on my own. This bag allows me to do that. It’s made of nice quality leather, the stitching is strong, and it holds quite a bit. It’s not for those who need to lug a ton, but my 15.4″ laptop fits the sleeve (snug, but it does fit), there’s room for a few files and my leather portfolio, and in the front area I carry a power cord, extra USB connector, and some basics like pens, extra discs, etc. The detachable wheels are a GREAT idea. It does take a few minutes to remove them and then conceal the open zippers, and it’s not the most graceful task, so I’d recommend removing it prior to meeting your clients! That being said, those minor inconveniences are a small price to pay for the ability to relieve my neck and shoulder of the burdon of a briefcase.
I purchased the red and it’s gorgeous. It’s a show-stopping shade very similar to the color of lipstick the starlets wore in the 50’s and 60’s. I’d recommend looking at all of the colors directly on the McKlein website (www.mckleinusa.com) because the interior and thread colors are sometimes ususual and obvious (such as what appears to be red thread with black leather, and orange thread with brown leather). The interiors also come in different colors (mine is orange). I found the McKlein representatives very helpful in answering any questions I had.
Oh, if anyone is interested in the pink, the rep told me it was closer to a bubble-gum pink than a blush pink

I absolutely love this product! I wanted a rolling briefcase that wasn’t so manly, and I found it. This bag fits my laptop, files, and a few other essentials. This is very functional as well as feminine. I also like that you can unzip the wheels and carry the bag. Thank you for designing a professional, functional bag for women in the workplace.

I’ve had this bag for a few months now, and have taken it along with me to several conferences and routine trips to New York City. I love the ability to stow away my laptop, documents and accessories in an attractive bag that saves my shoulders and back from the strain of a heavy briefcase or laptop bag. It’s even nicer that the bag is a brilliant red leather and really stands out. I’ve received so many compliments that I’ve stopped counting. It’s by far one of my favorite travel companions when I hit the road.

I have had this item for over a year, in pink. I have traveled a lot on planes and trains. It has held up so well. Doesn’t scuff, wheels are still sturdy, etc. It not only holds my laptop, but also a printer, movies, and all sorts of things necessary for carry-on travel.

This lime green rolling brief case is absolutely gorgeous and likely to turn all who see it “green with envy”! Don’t be fooled or put off by the bright green color – it is as professional looking as any of the more conservative black and brown ones I owned earlier in my career – probably because of the high quality leather and sleek stylish design. It is the perfect combination of function, style, and fashion. I love it, love it, love it, and have no doubt you will too!

IMMEDIATE IMPRESSION
This is the BEST looking bag I’ve seen for the price. I chose the dark red, which is a great color and stands out. I ordered it last week and used it this week on a business trip. It looks very impressive and of high quality, so I received tons of compliments immediately. As mentioned by other reviews, the stitching adds a touch of class to the bag and also makes it more unique than if it were a matching color.
PROS: The purchase comes with a mini umbrella attached to a hook on the wheeled platform, which is behind the bag. Not sure how easy it is to reach, but that’s a nice addition that I wasn’t expecting. The front also has a cool clasped pocket that fits magazines, your schedule, passport, itinerary, or other papers that you may need quick access to. The wheels are very solid and the handle functions properly. It was very easy to maneuver from carrying up stairs to wheeling when I needed to travel a longer distance. Unlike more cumbersome bags, I didn’t slow my party down as we were walking across different terrains or as I switched from carrying to wheeling and back.
The CONS: Though you can fit a larger notebook computer, expect the fit to be a little tight. I was able to fit my powercord, pens, financial calculators, etc., but you may have to figure out how to get everything you need into the bag. After I packed all of my items, I couldn’t find a place to put the shoulder strap, so set it aside and left it at the hotel, but this is the downside of leather versus other types of materials that are more expandable. Another small detractor is that the process of unzipping the bag from the platform is not as smooth as it could be. To remove the bag, you’d unzip the two zippers on each side and the one underneath. This was much easier when the bag was completely empty.
OVERALL, the Ellyn by McKlein USA definitely seems made for a female business traveler who prefers a high-quality, good-looking leather bag. In fact, the bag looks so nice that I think I’ll only use it for business trips and will buy a separate “everyday” case for my office, which has a more casual atmosphere. If you work in a more formal setting, I’m sure your co-workers will take notice.

After years of searching for the perfect laptop bag this comes the closest to any I’ve tried. My only two issues are the handle doesn’t retract low enough to allow the bag to go into the small overhead in some planes and the zipper tabs are a little small and hard to grab. The space is perfect with lots of room for all my accessories. I used the space by the handle for power cords and extra hard drives. I’ve had lots of comments from people liking the looks of my pink bag and the men on the planes always know it’s mine. I rarely will take it off the wheels but it’s great to have the option. It’s a great bag for women.

I really like this bag. It’s large enough for my Dell E4300 laptop and my larger Dell 570. It’s lightweight and easy to carry. There is space behind the bag with the wheels attached for more storage like for small umbrellas and power cords. It fits under the seat on most planes except for some MD88 or smaller if you sit in the aisle seat. No worries though as you can just detach the bag from the wheels and store separately- keeping the bag with you under the seat! It’s great. Another awesome feature is the back strap that allows you to attach the bag to your full size luggage handle. This strap is a MUST HAVE for any professional traveler! I have had so many compliments on the bag, and yes its pink! The bag is easy to detach and the wheels can be gate checked and you can place the bag in very tiny overhead compartments like on the puddle jumpers at regional airports. Great bag, good price. I may purchase another color! But I love pink! I work all over the US auditing manufacturing plants with a bunch of guys and me the only girl, so it gets a lot of attention (along with my Colts hardhat)!

Just got it, glowing orange, love the color, love the feel of it. It’s heavy but, hey, it’s leather, suppose to carry that weight. Not most practical but definitely for special occasion. Recommend to all girls!

I purchased the case for my wife. Took a few months to shop around and observe prices and discounts. My wife is very pleased with the case-it’s impressive and feminine- and I was happy with the price.
